Southern Cross is the east most location in the Wheatbelt Region, approximately four hours drive from Perth. The local industry comprises mainly of agriculture and mining with emerging growth in tourism during the wildflower season. Several sport and recreational activities are availble within the town. A District High School provides educational services for children aged from kingdergarten to year 10.
