Kondinin is situated in the southern regions of the WR, east of Narrogin. The town has a population of around 300, with over 1100 in the Shire. The town of Kulin is located around 280 kilomentres from Perth and is known for the popular Kulin Bush Races which attracts around 3000 visitors to the town each year in an effort to raise funds for community development. Hyden, which is located around 330 kilometres south-east of Perth and a short 30 minute drive from Kondinin, is famous for ‘Wave Rock’ (pictured) which is around 100 metre long! Hyden is a small town with a supportive community of approximately 200 people. A selection of local attractions and an abundance of wildflowers during spring are complemented by tourism ventures operating in the area. Other major industries in these areas include agriculture and mining. A wide range of excellent sport and recreation activities are available in each town. Several community groups with an interest in the arts and theatre are also available. Local Primary Schools and Telecentres cater for educational needs. Kondinin Health Service The Kondinin and Districts Health Service is a multi-purpose service (MPS) providing health care to the people of Kondinin, Karlgarin, Hyden, Kulin, Dudinin and Pingaring.
